A very different setting this week with the first non-Christian site.

Interior of the drum tower. There was an unexpected friend waiting there.

Sabbeth Sites: St. Peter und Paul

Outside of my window I can see a small town called Schnetzenhausen. I have never had a need to go in that direction and so I have never been there, but this morning I decided I would change that.

Apples taken somewhere to be sold, a normal site in this area.

A sundial on the side of the church overlooking a graveyard.

God bless you

Sabbeth Sites: Chartres

This week I am remembering my high school French trip and Notre Dame de Chartres. The Chartres Cathedral is unique in a few ways such as the two towers. The taller tower is built in a Gothic style while the other tower is Romanesque in design.

It hosts a relic, Mary's veil.

The stained glass windows of the cathedral are unique in their
"Chartres blue" color. No one has been able to recreate the exact shade.
